Infertility Evaluation & Fertility Support

If you have questions about your fertility or are having difficulty becoming pregnant, it’s a good idea to speak with your provider. There are many possible causes of infertility that can affect either partner, including hormonal imbalances, ovulation disorders, structural conditions, age-related factors, and certain medical or genetic conditions.

We recommend scheduling a fertility evaluation if:

• You have been trying to conceive for one year without success.
• You are age 35 or older and have been trying to conceive for six months without success.
• You are over age 40 and would like to discuss your fertility and family-building options.
• You have irregular menstrual cycles, a history of pregnancy loss, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), or other reproductive health concerns.

A fertility evaluation helps your provider identify factors that may be affecting your ability to conceive and determine the most appropriate next steps.

Your evaluation may include:

• A review of your personal and family medical history
• Discussion of your menstrual cycles and reproductive health
• Physical examination
• Blood and urine testing
• Hormone level evaluation
• Ovulation assessment
• Imaging studies or additional diagnostic testing when appropriate

Because hormone levels and ovulation patterns change throughout the menstrual cycle, some testing may occur over multiple visits to gather the most accurate information.

Once your evaluation is complete, your provider will review the findings with you and discuss available treatment options. Depending on your needs, we may recommend lifestyle modifications, medication, additional testing, or referral to a fertility specialist for advanced reproductive care.
